Accra floods: Death toll increase as new body found

The death toll from last Wednesday’s deadly floods in Accra is set to go up, after pedestrians discovered the remains of another victim inside the Odawna drain today.

The drain was packed with debris made up of plastic bottles, polythene bags and waste gathered from irresponsible human activity.

The identity of the male human body, which was floating in the main drain not far away from Graphic Communications in Accra, is not immediately known.

Today’s find brings to 10 the number of human lives claimed by the disastrous floods.

Citi News Reporter Richard Sky visited the scene and filed a report which has been attached to this story.

He said as of the time he was leaving the scene, the body had not been retrieved from the water.
